Why we investigated.
Recognising a situation is not the same as changing it. But you cannot change what you do not know. That is why, before proposing anything, we carried out research.
Knowing where we stand,
to decide where we are going.
Women's basketball in Barcelona faces a structural situation that requires action. But responsible action needs a responsible diagnosis. That is why, at CB Grup Barna, we did not want to limit ourselves to having an opinion. We wanted to have the data.
What we present in this section are not reflections or opinions. These are documented investigations: quantitative, comparative, cross-checked against official sources from the FCBQ, Barcelona City Council, the Institut Barcelona Esports, the WNBA, the NBA, INEFC and the most relevant clubs in Catalonia.
To take control of the situation
Without data, there is only intuition. Intuition is valuable, but it is not enough to justify policies of change. We investigated to find out where the problem lies, who created it and to what extent.
To act on evidence, not on goodwill
Every proposal we make is based on evidence. Our Method is not an abstract theory: it is the result of analysing what works in the NBA-WNBA, in Catalonia, in Barcelona, and specifically at our club, and drawing out the replicable patterns.
To offer it to the city
This research is a public service. We have carried it out with the club's own resources, but we share it with institutions, other clubs and administrations. If we are to change women's basketball in Barcelona, we must do it with shared data.
What we investigated.
7 independent yet interconnected documents. Each one addresses a different question: what is happening, why it is happening, what can be done, and what we are already doing. All are accessible, downloadable and shareable.
“We do not ask anyone to believe us on our word. We ask that the data be read. If anyone disagrees, there are 25,000 words of research with cited sources available to anyone who wants to check it.”
