Who we are
61 years · Poblenou and El Clot· The Catalan Model
A neighbourhood club, sixty-one years of history
Founded in 1965 in Poblenou and El Clot, Sant Martí district of Barcelona. A complete path from pre-mini to senior, unbroken, across 2 neighbourhoods and with teams in 6 schools of the district.
The senior women's team plays in the Supercopa Femenina and the Copa Catalunya, and the men's side is ahead of it competitively — investment and results go together. All of this with no sports hall of its own and no specific municipal grant.
The only basketball club shortlisted for Barcelona City Council's 18th Premi Dona i Esport, and compliant with the LOPIVI child protection protocol.
The Màgics — an inclusive adapted basketball team for young people with intellectual disabilities: real social inclusion, on and off the court. 3×3 Barna — more than 110 teams take part each year, over two days at Westfield Glòries and at Barna. Direct institutional support: meetings with the Catalan Minister for Sport, a visit from the Mayor of Barcelona and team presentations with the Federació Catalana de Basquetbol.

· The structural problem
38 female coaches the FCBQ does not count
They develop players every week, they break stereotypes, many of them coach boys' teams. None of them holds a federation licence: not for lack of talent, but because of cost and available hours. For the FCBQ's statistics, they simply do not exist.
The FCBQ's Coach Mentoring Programme requires a prior qualification to take part — which excludes precisely the coaches who have not been able to turn professional.
· The proposal
Fons Barna 8M on three levels: an FCBQ grant fund to qualify the 38 active female coaches (co-funded 30% club / 70% FCBQ), a redesign of the Mentoring Programme so that it is open to those already coaching and not only to those who already hold a licence, and a pilot programme, «From El Clot to Catalonia», to turn the Barna model into a policy any neighbourhood club can follow.

Six weeks, six different focuses
The club runs the camp with Time Chamber, who bring the individual-training method: short, repetitive sessions on a single part of the game. Barna brings the team atmosphere of sixty-one years as a neighbourhood club.
Flow Camp, TC Basics, Shooting Academy, One & One Mastery, Ballhandling Lab and Skills Lab Experience. Open to players from any club in Barcelona and the province.

· What the research says
Development first is not ideology
When you study why a child keeps playing or quits, enjoyment weighs two and a half times more than winning games. Of the 92.8% who stand out at junior level, most do not stand out as adults: selecting on performance at 12 does not work.
The precedent is Marc Gasol: he founded a school in 2014, with no senior team at all, and had no first team until 2017. «We are not going to rush to reach the ACB.»
Eleven lines of research, eighteen chapters, ~61,500 words. The psychology of the young player, drop-out, talent development, health, child protection, gender and the full map of Catalan basketball — with Barna compared one by one against 22 real development clubs.
